Holidays 2010

It has been a really fun year - I've learned so much and grown so tall. I have especially liked learning about Christmas and more importantly how to open presents! I must say I have a real nack for ripping open the wrapping paper and hearing that great noise. The excitement of seeing what is inside pales in comparison to the joy of opening.

Although there were a few presents that were extra special to me this year. In particular, my "Chicken Dance" Elmo, which I have carried around with me since he was unwrapped. What is a "Chicken Dance" Elmo you ask??? How could anyone not know? It is Elmo dressed like a chicken and he does the Chicken dance while singing the best song! "Elmo wants to be a Chicken, Elmo wants to be a Duck... Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack..." Other great presents this year were the Webbles from my brothers and Auntie.

I am excited to start 2011 and enjoy all the adventures yet to come.

Tea?

My favorite toy right now is my musical tea pot and two tea cups. I play with them all the time and sometimes I even try to get mommy to let me sleep with them. (but she never let's me).

Today Daddy kept asking me to get him some teeth, I had no idea how to get him so teeth so what I think he meant was show him my teeth. I opened up big and wide and showed him my teeth. Mommy and Daddy were very confused. I don't know why they would be so confused, but they were for a very long time.

Then they said, "Oh, teeth! Not tea..."

Ummm, yeah, why else would I be showing you my teeth?

Sometimes, I worry about mommy and daddy. They are my parents and suppose to be smarter than me. I'm in trouble...

A new house

I can't believe it has been so long since I have written! So much has happened in the past few months. The biggest news is that we moved to a new house, well it's an old house, but new to us. I think I like it here, but I have not really decided yet. My room is big and I have my very own bathroom. But now I am upstairs while Mom and Dad are downstairs. At least my brothers' room is upstairs with mine.

I start a new school on Monday. I'm not so sure about it, because I think I am just starting to be ok with my class. Although, I really don't like the morning teacher. She is quite awful, she is always grouchy and she doesn't really give hugs.

Last weekend Nini came to visit; we had lots of fun. I hope that she comes back again soon. It was nice to have Duke around, I got to play with him and pet him! Skootie never lets me do anything like that. Maybe Nini will switch with us, so we can have a dog I can play with :)

I know we have a lot of visitors coming in the next few weeks, I can't wait to see everyone and show them what a big girl I have become!

Disneyland!

We took my first trip to Disneyland this weekend. There were so many things to see, I had no idea that it would be so exciting! We got up early on Wednesday morning and went to the airport to get on the plane. After a long time, we went to this magical place called Disneyland. It was sunny and warm and we were greeted at the front by a character named Goofy. I, of course, loved him - he is a dog after all. After a few quick pictures with him, we set off to find food and explore.

We happened upon a wonderful place called Tomorrowland where my brothers went on a ride called Space Mountain. I'm not old enough yet - I wasn't old enough for a lot of the rides. But I did get to go on a fun video game ride with Buzz Lightyear. I think it was my favorite ride, although the Finding Nemo ride was a close second... ok, maybe the Small World ride was a tie for second. I can't believe how many people there are to watch out there.

That night we watched a water show (mom tells me to tell you that it is called World of Color). The water shot really high in the air and was all different colors, there was fire too!

The next day we went to Legoland. It was a bit of a drive and just ok for me. There wasn't as much for me to see or do... maybe I will like it more when I'm a bit older. Luckily, we had another 3 days at Disneyland plus we got to go see Mommy's friend Shilpa get married. That was fun too... I got to see a pretty white horse that was all dressed up. Mommy was in a pretty costume that was purple - she looked pretty.

After a long flight home, where I met a really nice flight attendant that carried me around for half the flight, we made it home. Oh how I love my own bed after a trip! I'm so glad to be back in school for my normal routine after a great trip.

Hope to see you all soon...

And I walk!

Yes, it is true. Yesterday I gathered my entire family and showed them that I could walk. I took five to six steps just for them. I have been practicing, but decided to wait until my daddy and brothers were home to show them.

After the first few times, we gathered the neighbors for a little show. We had a great time in the backyard as everyone watched me. I haven't decided if I am going to show my teachers at school today or not. I might make them wait a few days.

Check out the video that daddy got of me...

Fireworks, Birthday Cake & Rain?

We had a wonderful weekend with all sorts of new things that I haven't seen. My Auntie Suluh came to visit us and we did a lot of face time with Emo Halina. I got to see Nini too. It is quite weird seeing them in the phone.

It was Auntie Suluh's birthday so we did lots of fun things and got to have cake (well, i didn't get to have cake, but I saw it). Mommy tells me I have to wait another month before I get birthday cake. The fireworks were really pretty outside of my window. I only saw a few because I was so tired after being sick most of the day. It is finally sunny and warm outside and I am stuck in my room with the flu. It's not fair. At least the rain seems to be gone for a while.

Mommy says that we are going up to Vashon in a few weeks to the Strawberry Festival. I hope there are lots of yummy strawberries for me to eat!

Happy Memorial Day

It has been a fun weekend - I hope that you have enjoyed yours. I am really pooped out but wanted to share some of the fun stuff that has been going on lately.

I got another tooth! This is number 6 for me... Mom and Dad keep thinking that I'm getting more than I have, but really there are on 6 that have come through. I have four on top and two on the bottom. They come in really handy since I LOVE food :) My favorite lately is this yummy chicken-apple sausage that Mom cooks up for me. I can't get enough of it.

We went to see my friend Gigi on Saturday. They have a beautiful new home and it was fun to play with her, she has lots of toys that I've never seen before. I was pretty tired though since the whole family went swimming earlier in the day. I had so much fun - I wasn't sure about the water at first. There were so many people in there and kids splashing all around. But, once I was in and wet, I had a great time. I think my brothers had the most fun going down the slide. Dad and I scored them as they came down.

Yesterday we got to hang out with Bella and Abby, it's been a while since we have gotten to hang out and it was fun to share my toys with them. Everyone seemed so happy and surprised that all of us could crawl and "play" together.

This morning we went to the zoo. We were there for a long time, but it was nice and relaxing. I think my favorite part was seeing the goats. They were so close I could almost touch them. My brothers' favorite part was the dinosaurs. I didn't like them too much since they keep spitting on me and they were big and scary.

After such a big, long weekend, it is nice to be home and ready for bed. Hugs and kisses...

Who are you?

Mom and Dad came back, finally. They left me last Friday with Auntie Suluh, Emo Halina and Nini. It was fine and I had a great time. Although, Mom is sure that I forgot who she was while she was away. Secretly, I hope that they go away again soon.

I had SO much fun with all the attention that I got. We got to go on fun adventures that normally we don't do. We went shopping at this cool place that had all sorts of fun toys like daddy's iPhone. It was weird that they wouldn't let me chew on them, I can usually get away with chewing on them at home... then we went to a store with all sorts of pretty colors. Emo Halina held me and we walked around and looked at all of the fun things. Then, the best part of the afternoon, we ate! I got to eat potstickers, my personal favorite :) They made me eat some rice too, which is fine, but it is quite bland.

Sometimes I wonder why people think that I should like all these foods that have no flavor. I am a person, just like them. Would they like to eat nasty food with no flavor? I don't think so! I have started to protest anytime anyone gives me yucky food. I can eat anything they are eating...

aunties!

Both of my aunties came to visit this weekend. We had a lot of fun... the weather was so nice and sunny and we got to play outside alot.

My Auntie Suluh reminded me that I hadn't told all of you about my new teeth, I have 4 of them now - two on top and two on the bottom. I crawl and can pull myself up on just about anything that Mom and Dad will let me. I cruise a bit too... and I know I can walk, but ever time I try, I end up on my bottom. I'm not sure what is going on with that, but it will be happening soon enough!

With those new teeth, I have been eating lots of new things. Mom gives me a bit of bagel in the morning and I have started to eat snack with the big kids at school! It is so much fun to sit in the seats with the big kids and get to feed myself.

Other exciting news is that Griffey is visiting us! I love him, he lets me pet him and lay with him and he even gave me a big, giant kiss yesterday. Who knew that dogs could be so wonderful? I only have Skootie around and he doesn't like me much. I always try to pet him but he just runs away from me and hides. I think we should trade him for Griffey...

What do you think?

It's been a while...

It's been a while, I know. We have been busy the last few weeks. We have fought the flu (the entire family) and it seems we are always running off to something lately.

This weekend my Aunties are coming to visit me and see all of my new tricks (crawling, cruising, eating). It should be exciting - we have lots planned. Both of my brothers have baseball on saturday and we are doing a walk on sunday for autism.

Last weekend we had a great time doing a mommy and baby party at Whitney's. We talked alot about Baby Coconut (www.thebabycoconut.com). Everyone seemed very excited! On Sunday mommy and daddy took me to a photoshoot for Petit Couture. Mom loves to put me in their clothing. It was fun - kind of... I of course, love getting my picture taken, but all of the changing of clothes got old pretty quick! :)

Ok - I better run.

Loves - XOXO,

Vacay - again?

We had a wonderful time on vacation last week in Whistler. But, it has been so nice to be back at school with all of my friends! I was so excited and then they sent me home yesterday because they thought I was sick. (I'm not sick - I don't know why they won't just accept the fact that my "stool" is looser than all of the other babies... I mean don't you think I would be really sick if I had some bug for my whole life???) Anyway, they sent me home and told me I had to stay home today as well. Then, they are closed tomorrow for some holiday named Good Friday.

You know what that means??? It means I get another 5 day vacation at home! (Now, I may appear to be excited about this, but really it s*cks. Mommy and Daddy are actually pretty boring to be around all day).

Oh well, hopefully my brothers will come back home soon to play with me!

Whistler

After a long, long day of driving we finally arrived in Whistler! It has been a really fun day so far. We dropped my brothers off at ski school (I can't wait until I get to ski too)! After that, Mom and Dad took me for a walk in my new backpack. The backpack is great - I get to see everything and it is SO comfortable!

After a nice afternoon nap, I'm ready to get back out exploring... miss you.

Cough, cough

What a day! Mom took me to the doctor after my cough started to sound worse and I guess I threw up on her enough times to make her think I was really sick. The visit started off fine... Dr. Kilty listened to my chest and back. He really is a nice man... then he told mom that I either have some brochiolits thing or pneumonia.

Mom freaked out! She got all worried that I was dying or something. Not the case - Dr. Kilty said that babies don't really die from pneumonia and that I'm not that sick. But, just to be on the safe side we should take xrays to make sure my lungs are ok.

This is the point where my day turn a turn for the worse. They put me in a plastic tube like thing that was standing up. I sat on a bicycle seat that was just the right side for my bottom, then held my arms up in the air while they closed this thing around me. It was kind of fun at first, then they dropped me down into the tube. Don't they know that I am a person! A human one? What kind of torture is this? I didn't know that devices like this existed!

Finally, they took me out and looked at the xrays and I don't have pneumonia. Just this brochiolits thing. The doctor said lots of rest and liquids and I should be better soon.

We caught a fish!

Well, we didn't really catch a fish. We really caught a tooth. Just as Dr. Kilty said, teething is like going fishing. You wait and wait and you keep thinking you catch a fish and then one day you do! We knew that one was coming and we kept thinking we had one and now finally we can say we have a sharp edge coming through my gums. I know that everyone else thinks this is all fun and games but let me tell you - it hurts!

I've never had a tooth come in before, how was I suppose to know what it felt like? It's just not pleasant. I, of course, haven't complained - I'm a happy girl and I'm not going to let a little thing like a tooth get me down.

Check it out the next time you see me. :)

Bear Hunter

What a weekend... Bear Hunter and Grandma Lois came to visit us. It was quite a visit - I really enjoyed all of the extra attention! Grandpa Luke brought a camo-jumpsuit that was super cute on me but just a tad bit too small. I can't wait to see them again.

Mom tells me that Nini is coming to visit next weekend. Maybe I'll have my first tooth by then!

Arizona!

After a long day of traveling yesterday, we have made it to Arizona. It is so nice and sunny. I have already been out to explore our hotel and a little outdoor shopping mall next to our hotel. I love to watch all of the fountains and relax in the sun.

Daddy keeps telling me he is going to take me swimming, I'm so excited! I'll keep you posted if anything else exciting happens while we are here.

6 months old

It's my 1/2 birthday today... I'm 6 months old!

Did you know that I'm getting a tooth? It is the bottom right one (when you are looking at me). I also know how to sit up on my own, and I'm starting to eat solid foods. I can sleep through the night most nights (as long as I'm not sick), and I have gotten all of my shots to keep me healthy.

In the next few weeks, I'll be crawling, eating more and more solid foods and before you know it I'll be walking and talking. If you haven't seen me lately, you should really stop by to wish me a happy half-birthday. Otherwise, you might miss my adorable 6 month old self! :)

Love you all...

Sitting

Yesterday was so exciting! I sat on my own for the first time - well, I knew that I could sit but it is the first time that I showed mommy and daddy. It was very funny to see mom and dad so excited about something so simple. Then Grandma Destia and Poppos came to visit and everyone really wanted me to do it again for them. So I did.

After all of that hard work, I went to bed. Unfortunately it was a long night and I woke up with a little fever. I hope that I'm not getting too sick. My friend at school has hand, foot and mouth disease (which they tell me is just like the flu but you get a rash on your hands, feet, and mouth). I REALLY don't want that! We have so many exciting things coming up this week - Cade & Blake have basketball games, Superbowl, and of course we are going to Arizona for the weekend. I can't miss out on all of the fun!

Until next time...

Peas, green peas

This morning mommy introduced me to peas. They are very green and I'm not sure if I like the taste of them. But, I suppose that I will try them again...

Food!

What can I say - I was so excited to have my first solid meal. And when I say "solid meal" I really mean slightly thicker milk. But hey - don't knock my first step towards solids. All I can say is that it was delicious! We had so much fun eating, although it was a bit messy. You can check out the video my dad took of me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixkvQGO_7u4

I can't wait to start in on some of the other yummy things mom and dad have for me... what do you think should be next? Peas, Sweet Potatoes? I'll be sure to update you.

Pictures...

Time seems to fly when you are growing so fast. Last week mom and dad took me to get some pictures taken with Amy Vining in her new studio. It was so much fun, even though I was really, really tired. I think they turned out beautiful! (You can check them out here - http://www.movingpicturesblog.com/?p=2107)

I think that I have a tooth coming in - I know that everyone has thought that for a while with all the drool that I have all over my face, but it is now really starting to be noticeable. I can't keep my tongue away from my bottom gum and sucking in on my lip seems to help a bit too. I think it is a sign that I can start in on some food other than mom's milk soon. Although Dr. Kilty told mom that we need to wait until my 6th month appointment. I know we are all excited to go next monday and get the ok to start on yummy solids.

Other than that, we had a great weekend (Cade, Blake, and I) with Nini and Emo (auntie halina). They came to visit us and brought yummy cookies and muffins. But again, I didn't get any :( We also went to my brother's basketball games on Sunday. I loved watching all of the balls bouncing around. Dad and Cade have been working on a pinewood derby car and they tell me we are going to watch the race this saturday! It should be lots of fun - if I can stay awake that is :)

Hope all is well... love you!

It's been a while...

Well, it has been a busy few weeks. We had lots of fun up visiting all of our family in Redmond and Vashon. It was nice to spend some time as a big family and get to know everyone a little better!

After the hustle and bustle of our visit up north, we had some nice relaxing time at home. Cade, Blake and I had a fun Christmas. We first got to open up our stockings, then we got to open up all of the presents that Santa left us. My brothers got lots of Zhu Zhu pets - I can't wait until I'm older and get to play with them. Mom and Dad got me an excersaucer to play in and Santa brought me a fun new toy for my carseat.

It has been a nice break and we had lots of fun hanging out, but I have missed my brothers since they have been gone the last week.

We are back in school now and this morning we got to put our feet in flour. It was so much fun to play in the flower - I giggled and giggled. Maybe we'll get to do that again!

Until next time... xoxo,
A
